What to Expect At Your Visit
A full technical assessment takes about 45 minutes and includes an in depth biomechanical exam and gait analysis to determine what is causing the problem for the patient. Information will be given on the appropriate solutions to get rid of the pain, discomfort, of inefficiencies about the way the patient is walking or running.
If custom foot orthotics are required, a 3 dimensional cast of the foot will be taken and footwear education and home exercise routines will be discussed to start things on the road to recovery. Generally, the patient will return in 3 weeks to pick up their orthotics. They must bring shoes to this appointment so the orthotics can be properly fit and the pedorthist can assess how the orthotic is controlling the patient’s gait pattern. This appointment normally takes about 30 minutes and footwear choices will be discussed if they have not already been addressed.
Follow-up appointments will be determined on a case-by-case basis, but all follow-ups are free of charge for a period of 1 year. The Foot Company has onsite labs at each of its locations to allow for adjustments to be made while you wait. This dramatically improves recovery times as well as the quality of the adjustments.
